Improvement of payment morale - despite Corona!

23 Sep 2020

Around every fifth invoice in B2B business in Switzerland is paid too late. This is shown by Bisnode D&B's current analysis of payment behaviour. In the first half of 2020, this affected 21.8 per cent of invoices, which represents a decrease of 1.6 per cent compared to the previous year. The average delay of these invoices was 14.5 days. This shows a Röstigraben effect, because in the south and west of Switzerland, debtors seem to be less careful about paying on time. A look at the sector also allows interesting conclusions to be drawn. For example, the retail trade, the car industry, and the catering and hotel sector are among the particularly bad payers. According to the present analysis, the Corona crisis has not yet led to a deterioration in payment behaviour.

Green: Low proportion of late payments
Red: High proportion of late payments
